So, we’ve been trying to stay away from plastic food containers for quite a while now. We store all our leftovers in glass containers (even in the freezer in tempered glass or glass specifically labeled for freezing), and have migrated to stainless steel lunch boxes and water bottles.
Why? Because plastic is poisoning our bodies and oceans. Doctors and researchers have linked chemicals in plastics, such as BPA (bisphenol-A) and phthalates, in numerous studies to hormone and thyroid problems, behavior issues, obesity, cancer, diabetes, asthma, even kidney and heart conditions. Here's what you can do.

If the image above looks awfully familiar to you – stop trying and simply acknowledge that “patty-cake, patty-cake” may be as far as your baking skills will go.
But – don’t you worry, your event doesn’t have to go cookie-less. Fortunately, there’s Nando's Cookies, a local home cookie boutique specializing in handcrafted, deliciously beautiful artisan cookies. See what Nando's Cookies has to offer.

Central Texas is among the fastest growing regions in the nation.
While it means growth and prosperity for some, due to the rising cost of
housing, utilities, transportation, and healthcare, many of our
neighbors are left behind. Many of those neighbors are children.
More than
- 166,050 children in Central Texas
- 61,250 children in Travis County
- 27,160 children in Williamson County
- 8,990 children in Hays County
- 4,790 children in Bastrop County
- 2,360 children in Caldwell County
are affected by hunger and food insecurity. Let's change this.
