Just in time for spring break travel planning, San Antonio is bringing a taste of its rich and colorful culture to the capital city. Artists, dancers, musicians and family attractions from the Alamo City will be at Barton Creek Square on February 23 and 24 to give Austinites a preview of the vibrant and diverse San Antonio.
A short drive from Austin, San Antonio is one of the leading cities in the U.S. when it comes to attractions and accommodations for families. For the past few years, it has been experiencing a renaissance with exciting openings, including new attractions, restaurants, hotels, and experiences which complement the city’s vibrant heritage and living history. Notable recognitions, such as being named one of only two UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy in the U.S., continue to put the city on the map as a must-visit destination.
Entertainment & Activities
Families are invited to join representatives from San Antonio’s most popular attractions and museums to learn about all the new and exciting developments in the city. The event will feature hands-on activities perfect for kids such as cookie decorating, cascarone and tissue paper flower making, flower crown giveaways, and more.
Additionally, visitors will enjoy live entertainment from some of San Antonio’s best artists, including music from Los Nahuatlatos Band, stilt walkers from the Guadalupe Dance Company, dancers from Samba Vida, artist Rob the Original creating his amazing work with salt, and muralist Adrian de la Cruz creating an on-site piece.
Representatives from The Witte Museum will be on hand to share about the new spring exhibit Planet Pioneers.
