Spring is here, and that means it’s time for one of the most exciting family events of the year! Get ready for the annual Spring Festival at Crowe’s Nest Farm on May 3rd—a full day of hands-on farm fun, live shows, and outdoor adventures the whole family will love.

Join Farmer Dave and the Crowe’s Nest Farm crew for a packed day of action, animals, and excitement. Whether your kids are into wildlife, farm animals, or just running around in the fresh air, there’s something for everyone.


What’s Happening at Spring Festival?

 

  • Birds of Prey Raptor Falconry Show – Watch hawks, owls, and falcons swoop and soar up close while learning about these amazing hunters.
  • Reptile Show – Get up close with snakes, lizards, and other fascinating reptiles.
  • Milking Demonstrations – See how cows are milked and learn about life on a working dairy farm.
  • Sheep Shearing Day – Watch a live sheep shearing demo and find out how wool goes from fleece to fabric.
  • Children’s Horseback Rides – A perfect chance for kids to hop in the saddle and ride a gentle farm horse.
  • Barrel Train Rides – A favorite for little ones—climb in and enjoy a ride around the farm.
  • Hayrides – Relax on a classic hayride through the farm and see the animals along the way.
  • Live Music – Kick back and enjoy great live tunes while taking in the festival fun.
  • Snack Bar & Games – Grab a bite to eat and join in on games for all ages.

About Crowe's Nest Farm


Nestled just 8 miles east of Austin in Manor, Texas, Crowe's Nest Farm is a delightful 100-acre working farm and animal rescue sanctuary that's perfect for a family day out. With over 250 domestic farm animals and native Texas wildlife, the farm offers a hands-on, educational experience that kids and parents alike will cherish.

The farm includes educational exhibits geared for youth and their families.

  • The Big Red Barn is home to our reptiles and amphibians and includes other educational exhibits.
  • The Tiny Farm is home to our miniature ponies, chickens, goats, pigs and hooved youngsters requiring extra human care. 
  • The Dairy Barn is equipped with a working milking machine for live demonstrations.
  • Walking path leads visitors to all of our domestic livestock and wildlife areas, gardens and enclosures. 
  • Free guided Hayrides take visitors to our outer pastures to see the Bison. 
  • Children’s-story and fairytale-themed flower, vegetable, and herb gardens cover the grounds of the main farm visitor area.
  • The Birdwood trail’ invites visitors to walk and enjoy nature and a trickling stream and gardens along the way.

Crowe's Nest Hayride Tours

Tours


School groups and groups of 15+ are invited to book a tour to visit. Join their tour guides for a learning adventure, then explore the farm at your own pace. Tours are 45-60 minutes and begin at the Big Red Barn with orientation and learning exhibits. This is followed by a trip to the Dairy Barn for a lesson on dairy and a milking demonstration followed by a hayride to see the Bison.

Self-Guided Tours: Take your time wandering our trails and checking out all of our animals, gardens, and exhibits.

Meet the Animals


From bison and llamas to goats and miniature ponies, the farm is home to a diverse array of animals. Children can get up close and personal, feeding and learning about these friendly residents. Don't miss the chance to meet Hummer, the lovable young llama known for his gentle kisses!

Crowe's Nest Farm is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization dedicated to fostering public appreciation, knowledge, and wise stewardship of the agricultural and wildlife resources of Texas. We are licensed by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, U.S. Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Crowe's Nest Farm works with local organizations such as Wildlife Rescue, Inc, the Travis County Sheriff's livestock division, and local humane societies by taking in injured, orphaned, abused, neglected and other non-releasable animals for care and sanctuary.
