Young readers have so much to explore at this year's Festival on November 5-6! We're once again bringing authors and activities to Congress Avenue, including the Read Me a Story Tent, Children’s Entertainment Tent, and the Next Chapter Tent. Children’s authors can also be found in the Latinx Lit Tent and Kirkus Tent, so check out the 2022 Festival Schedule.
Bring the whole family down to meet amazing authors, including Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen, the Pumphrey Brothers, Jasminne Mendez, Nathan Hale, Yuyi Morales, Nicholas Solis, Carmen Tafolla, and so many more!
Best of all: these events are all FREE and open to the public!
Children’s Activity Tent
Join our friends from Austin Allies and other area nonprofits for interactive activities and crafts for all ages! Plus, real life illustrators will be on stage for How to Draw! This is a great place for inspired kids to create, and adults to take a break.
If you love the Contemporary Austin’s Drop in and Create at the Jones Center, don’t miss the Contemporary Austin team in the Children’s Activity Tent on Sunday, November 6 from 1 pm - 2:45 pm. Art, creativity, and fun for the entire family!
Kids Pass & Waldo
Don’t forget to pick up your Kids Pass at the Info Tent or Children’s Activity Tent. The Kids Pass and Where’s Waldo scavenger hunt will help you explore the entire Festival, and there are even prizes at the end!
The Next Chapter Tent
Calling all chapter book readers! Stop by the Next Chapter Tent for fun panels with some incredible authors for the older kids. Plus, don’t miss the Fresh Ink winner panel!
Next Chapter authors include Jennifer Ziegler, Laekan Zea Kemp, Christina Soontornvat, Kelly Yang, David Barclay Moore, Saadia Faruqi, Jenna Yoon, and many more!
Children’s Book Sales Tent and Signing
All of the books featured at the Festival will be for sale in the BookPeople Book Sales Tent. Children’s authors will be signing in the Children’s Signing Tent, or at the venue.
Happy Reading!
If your kids love to read, also check out these libraries and local bookstores (you'll also find our My Friends and I memory book in some of them!).
