Suvie: Your Personal Kitchen Robot for Stress-Free Dinners

Effortless, hands-free meals that cook while you’re away

Suvie: Your Personal Kitchen Robot for Stress-Free Dinners
Let’s be honest—parenting is a full-time job, and somehow, meal prep is another full-time job on top of that. Between school drop-offs, soccer practice, homework battles, and attempting to have a moment of peace (ha!), figuring out dinner can feel like a never-ending game of “What’s in the fridge?” followed by the classic “Do we have time to make this before everyone gets hangry?”

So, we gave Suvie a try, an innovative kitchen robot designed to take the stress out of meal preparation by cooking meals automatically at a scheduled time. It uses a Cool-to-Cook® refrigeration system to keep ingredients fresh throughout the day and then automatically starts cooking at the right time.

Suvie is a multi-zone cooking system that can boil, roast, bake, broil, steam, sous-vide, and even air fry. It can be controlled remotely via a mobile app and enables you to have a home-cooked meal ready when you need it.

What we liked about the Suvie:

1. Time-Saving Convenience

One of Suvie’s biggest benefits is that it saves time. You can load ingredients in the morning, set a cooking schedule, and return home to a perfectly cooked meal. The Cool-to-Cook® feature refrigerates the food until cooking time, eliminating the need to rush home and start dinner from scratch.

2. Hands-Free Cooking

Suvie takes care of every step of the process—from refrigeration to cooking—so you don’t have to stand over the stove. Simply set up the meal, let Suvie take over, and enjoy more free time with the family.

3. Multiple Cooking Methods in One Device

Unlike traditional kitchen appliances, Suvie is a multi-cooker that can prepare different types of food at the same time. It has separate zones for proteins, vegetables, and starches, allowing for balanced, restaurant-quality meals in a single step. For example, it can steam vegetables while baking chicken, ensuring that everything is cooked to perfection simultaneously.

4. Rapid Cook® for Quick Meals

For nights when time is short, Suvie’s Rapid Cook® feature can have a meal ready in as little as 20 minutes. This is perfect for those busy evenings when the family has after-school activities, sports, or late meetings.

5. Pre-Made Meal Options for Ultimate Convenience

Parents who don’t have time to grocery shop or meal plan can take advantage of Suvie’s meal delivery service, which offers over 50 chef-designed meals each week. These meals are made with high-quality ingredients and arrive pre-prepped—just scan the meal’s QR code and let Suvie take care of the rest.

6. Remote Control via Mobile App

The Suvie mobile app allows parents to schedule, adjust, and monitor cooking remotely. Whether stuck in traffic or running late from work, you can use the app to ensure that dinner is ready at just the right time.

7. Easy Cleanup

With dishwasher-safe pans, Suvie makes cleanup simple. Parents can spend more quality time with their families rather than scrubbing pots and pans after dinner.

8. Large Capacity for Family Meals

Suvie is designed to serve four or more people, making it perfect for families. Unlike smaller kitchen appliances, it can prepare full meals in one go, ensuring that everyone is fed without multiple cooking cycles.

What we didn’t like about the Suvie:

1. Getting Suvie Set Up Was Trickier Than Expected

Connecting our Suvie account took longer than anticipated, and it took an entire afternoon to get the cooling function to work properly.

2. Customer Service Fell Short

We expected quicker and more helpful support, but our experience didn’t quite meet those expectations.

3. Unexpected Meal Delivery Timing

Our Suvie meals arrived while we were out of town, and since we weren’t asked about our preferred shipping date, they sat outside for a few days.

4. Leaky Packaging Led to Unreadable Instructions

One of the ingredient bags leaked, soaking the recipe card and making it partly illegible. It would be great if the instructions were printed on the outside of the bag. Unfortunately, we couldn’t access the instructions online due to website issues, and the app only provides an ingredients list, not step-by-step directions.

5. Noisy Operation

Once we finally got the Suvie running, we were surprised by how loud it was.

6. Limited Website Access for Non-Subscribers

Since we didn’t subscribe to Suvie’s meal plan, we found that parts of the website were inaccessible. A subscription seems to be required to unlock the full experience.

Overall, the concept behind Suvie is impressive, and the one meal we tried was delicious. However, since we don’t have a meal subscription, we haven’t experimented with our own recipes yet—we’re still unsure how to do so. Hopefully, we’ll find the time to fully explore Suvie’s capabilities and make the most of it in the future.
