My daughters found my old oven with stove top in my parents’ attic. Naturally, it ended up in the kitchen with the request to bake cupcakes in the oven and make hot chocolate on the stove. It’s probably safe to say that today the oven is an antique (and would certainly be outlawed in the United States) so I wasn’t sure whether it would still work.
We decided on carrot cupcakes with cheesecake frosting.
The girls helped me to make a total mess in the kitchen. I don’t know about you, but I cook and bake by the motto "no mess, no fun" (although, I probably have to admit that it is impossible for me not to make a mess in the kitchen even if I wanted to).
Anyhoooo, here we go. I think the pictures are self-explanatory.
Did you have a working children's oven/stove like this back in the day? If so, we'd love to hear your childhood stories.
Long live German engineering!
