We are a big supporter of the idea of raising kids bilingual as well as introducing them to music at an early age. We did or are doing both. Obviously, our kids have an advantage since their Mama is a true German girl and they have been exposed to the German language since birth, but parents don't need to be able to speak a foreign language in order to raise a bilingual child.
You also don't need to be a musician to raise a musical kid, in fact, we participated in an early childhood music & movement program and learned that it is less important how well you sing than it is to model making the choice to sing.
Research suggests that there is a linkage between music and language learning and that exposure to music or a foreign language during the years most critical to brain development can lead to increased brain density and an increased skill in math and logic.
Children's songs are especially beneficial to kids and adults alike. They’re repetitive and easy to learn and absorbing the lyrics of children’s songs will embed proper syntax and pronunciation in your mind, and it’ll teach you essential grammar and vocabulary.

These classes are THE BEST. My daughter loves them, she sings the songs at home, she's learning Spanish, AND she now sings the "pick up toys" song at home and picks up all of her toys! I really enjoy the classes, too! It's nice to have good music at home that my toddler likes and that mom and dad can enjoy, too.

My husband and I have been attending music classes with our son since he was 5 months old. He absolutely adores his teacher, and we do, too! This class has reinforced the music and language skills we're teaching at home. But most of all, we bond and have fun! This class is pure magic and something we look forward to all week.

I signed up for the Spanish Music classes when my son was only a few months old. Now we are in our third session. My son just turned a year old and he not only now has an ear for music, he also is understanding Spanish!! Attending these classes has helped us discover things about our son, understand him better and have incredible experiences we might not have had without attending these classes. Mi Casa Es Tu Casa is definitely worth the investment!
