Free Mentorship and Professional Etiquette Training Classes for Young Women

Crystal Ngumezi, a 26-year-old originally from Houston, TX now living in Austin, TX, recently started The Proverbs 31 Women’s Organization, a nonprofit organization that offers free mentorship and professional etiquette training classes to young women from low-income families living in underprivileged neighborhoods.

“I started The Proverbs 31 Women's Organization because I felt there was a need for an organization that supplied underprivileged young women with proper mentors to help lead and guide them through life.”, Crystal says. “As a young woman myself, I always desired to have a female mentor to help coach and guide me through my profession as a female engineer. I never received this type of aid, so I made it my mission and purpose to create opportunities for young women who looked like me to receive free help and guidance, as well as free professional training and teaching. “

Mentorship program and professional workshop classes are free and are reserved for young women from low-income families living in underprivileged neighborhoods, who attend middle school, high school or undergraduate studies in the Austin, TX area.

Professional training workshops are specialized to train young women on professionalism, verbal skills, and proper business etiquette (i.e. Professional Etiquette Training, Resume Building, Job/School Application Tips, Scholarship Tools/Resources).

The organization is currently looking for volunteers to teach these workshop classes, as well as volunteers to help the organization in anyway locally. Volunteer mentors must be at least 21 years of age and working in a professional field in the USA (preferred female mentors).

Workshop classes and mentorship for 2017 are set to start in March. Both students and mentors can apply online at https://p31women.org.

If you want to donate and contribute to making change in the lives of young women, you can do so online through the organization's website portal. All donations are tax deductible and go directly to The Proverbs 31 Women’s Organization.
