Cast Your Vote in the Best of Austin Birth Awards
Remember all the questions you had before and shortly after giving birth to your first (or second, or third, or ...) child?
Which Hospital or Birthing Center is right for us? How can I find a good Doula or Midwife? Which Birth Prep and Breastfeeding Class should we go to? What if I need a Lactation Consultant? Are there any Mom or Playdate Groups in my area? The questions seem endless.
In our directory you can search and read recommendations for all of the above and more - by category, by location, and by age group.
Another great resource is the Central Texas Breastfeeding Coalition, a long standing, volunteer led, local non-profit whose mission is to improve the health and safety of mothers, babies, and families through breastfeeding education, advocacy, and collaborative partnerships of public and private organizations.
Every year the Central Texas Breastfeeding Coalition hosts the Austin Birth Awards. Goal of the awards is is to raise awareness and highlight the great work that birth professionals and mother focused businesses provide for new families in our area.
The award finalists are nominated by those in the community who have personally experienced great service and outcomes from birth related service providers and the winners are chosen by the public.
The voting period for the 2016 Austin Birth Awards has begun and ends September 19th. The winners will be announced at the Awards Gala and Reception on October 14th at the Carver Museum and Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public. Families, finalists, birth professionals, and members of the media are encouraged to attend. The event will include cocktails and networking opportunities, a silent auction, and winners in all categories will be announced.
