Do you believe in magic? I do. I always have. And - I am fascinated with magicians. My husband smiled at me with a “I-wonder-who-has-more-fun”-smile when I took the girls to their first magic show and got them a magician box for their birthday (and he’s right, I secretly play with it when they’re at school - just kidding).
So, I was very excited to have Austin’s wonderful magician Peter the Adequate come to my daughter’s birthday party. I had seen his show before and I knew the kids would love his show. And they did.
As soon as Peter entered the house and before he had even set up his equipment, his show began. He immediately engaged with the party guests, made them laugh, and sparked their curiosity and created excitement. While it didn’t take him long to set up for the show, the kids couldn’t wait for the show to get started and asked over and over again “Can we go see him now?” and “Is he ready yet?”.
During the show the kids (and adults!) got to enjoy rope tricks, items that disappear and reappear or magically turn into something else, card tricks, and more. We laughed and giggled and watched in awe and amazement.
Peter engaged the kids, brought them “on stage”, triggered lots of questions, and made them ask for more. Every single child got a turn.
On top of having a blast assisting Peter and being part of the show, my daughter got another kick out of it. When Peter did his rope trick, he gave her a knot that he had tied and that magically came off the rope. He told her to put the knot under her pillow when she goes to bed and that overnight, it will mysteriously turn into a $5-bill. And guess what – it did! (Peter, I’d like to have 1.000 of those knots, please!)
Peter also gave our little birthday girl her own magic book and some magic cards so she can practice and put on her own little magic show.
We absolutely loved Peter the Adequate. After the show, my older daughter asked “Can he come to my birthday party, too?”. If you’re looking for a fun entertainer for a kids birthday party, give Peter a call 512-709-8060, send him an email at
