Austin Womb Service review on August 21, 2019
Horrendous experience with Ellie.
I suspected my water broke while I was in the bathtub and asked her shouldn’t I go to the hospital? She said it’s not urgent and she would wait until the contractions are stronger. We went soon after and I got a fever due to tub water causing an infection. I had to be treated with antibiotics right away as did my son after birth. Glad we went in when we did. She was at another delivery during this time so she had to call in her back-up doula, who arrived more than 2 hours later but the contract says someone will be there within 2 hours. I had also confirmed with Ellie during the interview process that she doesn’t book too many clients around the same due dates.Ellie showed up after a few more hours but she was clearly exhausted. I was having continuous pain where my butt cheek meets my hip and the ONLY people who volunteered to massage me were my fiancé and mom. Ellie let them take turns for HOURS while she curled up in a chair, covered in a blanket and SLEPT.               At one point, as I took a quick breath in between pushing to bring my baby into the world, I look over and see she has my left foot in one hand and is BUSY TYPING on her phone with the other! Appalling. She's supposed to stay an hour or two after but less than 5 minutes after birth, while the doc is still stitching me up and baby being evaluated, she asks if we need her anymore or was it ok if she left because she was so tired from being up for who knows how many hours. We didn’t hear from her for 9 days afterward. No call or even a text to ask how’s the newborn. When she did text and ask how breastfeeding was going and if we wanted to schedule the postpartum visit, we were so disgusted with her that we didn’t want to see her again so we didn’t respond and haven’t heard from her since.
