Love for Lonestar Field Hockey Club

By on April 22, 2024
I highly recommend Lonestar FHC for anyone interested in learning field hockey and developing as a player. The organization focuses on the skills needed to play at a higher level, while genuinely caring for their players. The girls grow as players and young adults as a result of Lonestar. Our daughter started playing field hockey at school and then joined Lonestar in middle school, focusing on it once in high school. Adam, Ross and their team want the girls to love field hockey for life. They create a positive yet challenging environment for the girls. With locations in Austin, DFW and OKC, the girls get to develop friendships with girls from other schools. It has been awesome to see our daughter connect with girls from other schools and play as a united team. I can’t say enough good things about this program. I highly recommend it!

Great sport, great club!

By on April 20, 2024
My two daughters both joined Lonestar Field Hockey Club the year it was founded (one in 9th grade and one in 5th grade). Both went on to play in high school and for the club throughout their high school years and it was a great experience for each of them. They learned teamwork, discipline, agility and sportsmanship, all the while also learning a great lifelong sport. While less know in the US, Field Hockey is popular international sport played by men and women/boys and girls around the globe. May European clubs work on a multigenerational model and encourage lifelong play. Lonestar follows this European model and encourages a lifelong love of the game. The coaches are top notch, with many having top level playing experience all over the world. Both my daughters have gone on to play Field Hockey in college. Playing for Lonestar opened doors that likely would not have been available to them otherwise, and it has been a great experience for our family over the years. Our daughter who is still in college now continues to workout with the club and also helps coach younger players when she is home for vacations. Both my girls made great friends through the club and the sport and we would not trade this experience!

Lonestar Field Hockey!!!

By on April 19, 2024
Our daughter joined Lonestar Field Hockey Club when she was in 5th grade. She had been introduced to field hockey in a PE class at school, and she (and many others in her class) absolutely loved it and wanted more! When she started attending Lonestar Field Hockey practices, her interest in playing field hockey blossomed. From the beginning, our daughter was challenged and encouraged by engaged and skilled field hockey coaches to learn new stick skills. As our daughter played and improved, Lonestar coaches asked her to work hard and focus during practices; as a result, she has continually improved and her confidence as a player has increased. Besides what our daughter has learned as a field hockey player, she has gained social awareness, self-confidence, and team building skills; she has met girls from different schools around Austin and from various different cities in Texas and Oklahoma. Now that our daughter is almost halfway through high school, we can look back and realize that Lonestar Field Hockey Club has been a tremendously positive and enriching experience. And, we can look forward to her being able to continue working on her field hockey skills and to continue benefitting from training alongside other dedicated field hockey players. We would wholeheartedly recommend Lonestar to anyone interested in learning and developing as a field hockey player, athlete, and person.

Fun environment, attentive and kind coaches who share their passion for the sport with the kids. I would highly recommend trying it, you can always do the first session for free. My girls love it!
